Insane Pet Day 2020!

 Hi Bloggers

Last week on Friday it was Pet day and we did a lot of things that were fun on Pet day! First I picked an animal from the laminated paper pile and got a funny and made up animal. Which was Hippocampus which was our habitat that we had to make on a piece of cardboard which was very hard to plan but we came up with something. We were doing so well it was looking like this Then it flooded and eventually it went in the bin at least we cleaned it up. My group was Kane, Connor and Dominic.

After when we were half way through our habitat we started decorating a cake. We put fimo the colors were black, blue, yellow, red green, and much more we had a lot of icing to put on the fimo which would go on the cake. After when our habitat was flooded we played a Kahoot about baby animals a kahoot is quiz. Next when we've done the quiz we ate the cake which I hated me and Kane hated the fimo and the icing we jut the vanilla be it self. After break we continued with our habitat and it flooded.

Perfect Poetry!

 Hi Readers! This week we've been learning some of the basics and listening to some funny and great poems from a book. I will be telling you what happened in all of 3 days in separate paragraphs. I hope you like my blog post here we go.

Day 1 We just listened to a couple of poems from a book that were funny and  we disgusted as a class and discuss what it was about. Then we went away and made a long sentence like a poem about a cold winter morning. Mine was mostly rhyming words because I didn't know another to make a poem and if I knew it would take too long.

Day 2 We started reading our long sentence to ourselves and then when we were confident we started to screencastify ourselves, which is basically videoing our selves and saying our long sentences. When I did my screencastify outside I had to redo a couple of times because I listened to my screencastify and laughed because my poem was so bad. 

Day 3 We drew our hand on a piece of paper and got in to partners or a group not with your friends. We had  to describe around and imagine we were in a dark forest and what we feeled and the rest of our senses. We described with sets of 3's similes, and personification and much more. We came down to the mat and shared our ideas together.

Sweaty Softball!

 Hi Bloggers!

On Monday this week we play softball every Monday and our coach was Strings, at the start we got tennis balls and we threw it up and and saw how many claps we can do when we throw it up.  Next we got a partner and we threw the ball to each other and we caught and had turns. It was extremely fun and at the end of the day we played simon says but it was softball edition.

The next week we started catching and getting partners and we chose ourselves but, this time we catched with gloves. We played a game that's called stuck in a muck the field is can't move they can only move their arms but not their legs. I was the hitter the can hit the ball 3 times and they run around the cones and the fielders must get all 3 balls and place them on the cones.

Extremely Cool Farm Visit!

Hi Bloggers! Last week we went to our teachers farm and we used the bus to go there the great thing was that it was free and our whole class went. We had to wear gumboots because every farm in the world is muddy so we didn't want our shoes to get muddy of coarse. We walked around Mrs Dods farm and there were 2 other people that owned farm too they were Greg and Mark.

We Had loads of fun of coarse and we saw boals and cows at 12:30 we stopped and had lunch Mrs Dods farm was really fun and she owned a massive piece of their land. Mrs Dods had a cute little dog that was running around when we got out of the bus when we arrived we all started patting the dog. I ran and I scraped my gumboots on legs and my leg stung so badly and it hurt like a tarantula bit me.

We also had to wear green vest to look like we are the people that are visiting the farm we were the first school to go to that farm.

Learning about Similes Metaphors and Personification!

Today I'll be showing you what a metaphor a simile and what personification is. I've got a video and the end of my blog post if you don't understand my writing hope you enjoy.  A simile you guys should know but i'm just going to do a couple example anyways if you don't. A simile is a type of sentence that has as or like for example a simile is like this 'the man was as tall as a giraffe' another one is t'he cat was like a rose'.

A metaphor is a type of sentence that has an is in it for example you are the apple of my eye. A personification sentence is a non human thing doing human features for example a tree was waving at me with its leaves.

Today I was learning about negative numbers I'm going to show you some of the basics of negative numbers and put in the slides that I haven't finished yet. We watched a video and we had to write what the video was about -25 is a bigger number than -45 because -25 is closer to 0. There are negative numbers which are like this -25 and there are positive numbers like this 25. 

There are crocodile mouths like this < > = the crocodile mouths goes for the highest which is pretty greedy and if the numbers are them same then you put an = sign. For example 45 > 65 < 65 another is  45 > = < 45 those are my examples.

My 2020 Achievements!

 Hi Bloggers! 

 Today I was using biteable to write all goals before the end of the year and most of them are about learning and making friends. If you don't know what biteable is it is a program that you can make videos but it is just scenes. Also you pick scenes that like little clay people that move by themselves there's also heaps of scenes. I had other decisions like to work on prezi or easily. One of my goals are to have more then 2 friends before the start of the year just more then 2. Another goal I like to add is to learn my 7,8 times tables in maths.

Life Education!

Hi Bloggers! Today I went to a truck trailer and the person inside was Keri and he showed us a giraffe was called Harold the giraffe  he was a puppet. We got to shake our bums at te other people and it was pretty hilarious but not that cool. We were playing 2 games one of them was maori one of them was feelings in english.

The lady made a hello sign for Harold and if you do it both hands Harold will think that he looks like a kangaroo. You can do it by putting your thumb, middle and ring finger together and and the rest makes a hello sign language sign. We got to learn about our bodies and our 3 most important parts are lungs,heart and brain.

The reason why the brain is so important because it sends a message to your arms or legs or somewhere in your body and you move. The reason why the heart is important is because it pumps up oxygen and the lungs makes us breathe in and breathe out.

Harold was kind of shy but he still came out and saw us it was so much fun.

Presenting My Speech!

 Hi Bloggers!

 Today I'll be talking my incredibly amazing speech. I think my speech is very convincing because it is about if was prime minister you should be a good person when you are prime minister. The 3 awesome facts that I planned out was give money to the poor people, work as a team and be kind to all. 

We had to make them into q cards which was kind of hard of me to do because it was my first time making them. But at the end I eventually got the idea and finished it off at the end we cut them. And everytime we read one paragraph we put the note that we red at the back and keep on reading.

At the start when I was planning it was kind of tricky to choose one because first I chose Cybersmart but then I changed my and I swapped to if I was prime minister for a day. When I was writing my speech I it was hard because you only write once a year and only a little words write a lot of writing.

Amazing Speech 2020!

 Hi Readers! Today I'll be showing you my speech. My speech is about if I was Prime minister for a day I would be a good person. I have written 525 words well I think my speech is really convincing. The 3 main facts I did was help poor people, teamwork and be kind to everyone. My time of my speech was 3 minutes and 9 seconds but I only needed to do 2 minutes. It took about 3 days to plan it and 2 days to write my speech. 

At first when we were learning about we learnt that eye contact and personal pronouns are really in speeches. Personal pronouns are a way do describe you and other people for example I, our and us but there are much more than those three. 

I have written 5 paragraphs in my speech they are my introduction, my 3 main facts and my conclusion.  I'm am feeling nervous for presenting my speech because I have to read it to the class or the whole school.

We do speeches to test our knowledge and to see who is the best at writing persuasively . And who has actually been learning and who has not. At the start when we were planning our speeches the teachers gave us some ideas for our speech so we don't have to spend so much time looking for a good speech topic. Here's a little bit of my speech.

Introduction: Hi, What would you do if you were prime minister for a day? I am certain that everyone is going to work together, right. Another way of saying working together is teamwork.

         Conclusion:  So as you can see, you should be a good person when you are Prime Minister.I would allow the amazing students to do whatever they want well, adults too.Thank you for listening to my speech.

Magnificent Maths!

 Hi Bloggers! Today I'll be showing you my maths that I've been doing recently the slides are called comparing fractions. I've been doing fraction, division and multiplication I got stuck on the questions, first I went down to the mat and my teacher taught me, and now I'm a master at it. So I was doing this type of maths that is called finding the fraction of the amount.

So for  example it's denominator and a numerator and a number beside so its like 1/5 of 50. First that you have to do the bottom number the denominator, you have to skip count with your fingers so say how many fives in 50 = 10 and times it by the top number the numerator and that's your answer. If you don't know here's a picture of my work.

Maths Column Method!

Hi Bloggers!

 Today I'll be teaching you how to make maths way easier for you in addition and subtraction. It is called algorithm, algorithm is writing a number on the top and one on the bottom you subtract or plus it. If your doing subtracting and if the top number is lower and the bottom number is higher you have to borrow 1 from the number on the top next to it. And the number gets an extra ten and that's how you do algorithm. If your doing addition it's easy, you plus the number on the top and the bottom and if you get a higher number then 10 then you have to carry. So say you got 13 so you put 3 in your answer and 1 at the next number at the top. That's how you do algorithm hope you learnt well. Here's a an example if you don't  know. My next step is to do bigger numbers and maybe do it faster.

Map Legend!

Hello Everyone. 

Today I'll be talking about a map legend. A map legend is you draw a key of features I put mine on an island. You draw  for example like a forest, mountains and schools. Next when your done you can write the features into the legend with a symbol. This is how you complete a map with a legend. I find this type of maths work fun because I got to draw and colour in.

Cross Country!

!Cross Country!

Hello Bloggers! Today I'll be talking about Cross Country.  I came 3rd in the Cross country out of the boys and my friend Connor came 2nd out of the boys.  I was sweating after the race my other friend Kane threw all the water in his drink bottle on himself, his shirt was soaked. Year 5's and year 6's had to run 2km but we were sent at different times.  We had to jump over some hay bails during the race, and we saw some teachers and adults around the race keeping us safe.

Last Day of Term 2!

Hi Bloggers! Today I'll be telling what I've planned for the 2 week holiday. I might be going to somewhere far like Nelson or West coast and were gonna get a hotel. I'm probably going to sleep in the car the whole trip so I don't get bored because it's a long trip. 

I'm gonna try to get a frozen coke or a ice cream because it might get hot and it's a very long drive from Christchurch. This term has been really fun because all of the reward times and when we did our shop and the hard work. I'm excited for next term because we have winter sport. Winter sport is that you do a sport or 2 I chose soccer and rip-a rugby.

Our Tasty Shop!

Fabulous Writing Celebration!

Hi Everyone! Today I'll be talking about my writing celebration. A writing celebration is that you share any writing you've done this year or term. I've chose the one that I did today because it was my record of writing the most words 364 words and the story had good punctuation. It even had a cute little animal that was a koala and he joined me and Levi's clan he was named Smart Koko but this happened in the story.

One day there were two brave astronauts called Levi and myself Sahil. We were looking for a great huge planet that has heaps of trees and water which is earth. The planet had to have food/ animals/cows, chickens for food and sheep to get some warm clothes. Earth is as big as 99 giants.  As soon as I put my foot on the ground I felt dizzy. I went to drink some water because it was clean and all of the trees were strong and gigantic. The people chose me to protect this planet and Levi fell asleep so I had to do it on my own. They chose me because l Levi was asleep and I had defeated a dragon before.  All of a sudden I heard a roar RRRRR OOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRR it was terrifying and I ran away and everybody hid in a bush. There were a bunch of dragons. Maybe 17 dragons one even had 37 heads and the rest had 4 heads that means they all had at least 8 eyes. So they can see lots.  I put on my invisible suit and I was invisible so was the spaceship and Levi but he was still sleeping so maybe he didn’t get to sleep last night. I sliced their legs, I climbed the 37 dragon and he only had   heads. So he flew away and crashed into a rock mountain and I never saw him again. The rest of the dragons followed him.  A cute little animal came up to me and said can I have food because he said there was a guy that keeps on showing up and stealing his food. The animal was a Koala. He was very smart. He gave me an idea so he tied a rope to a tree and we waited for him to come and he tripped over the rope and I got him.  Next the Koala joined me and Levi’s clan and he was named Smart Koko. Levi finally woke up and said what happened and we all started laughing hehehehe. Whenever there’s an emergency Koko will always come and whenever he’s hungry he can eat. Nobody bothered planet earth again.

Mystery Writing!

Hi Everyone! I'm going to talk about my writing today I've been doing my plan and it was called the ice cream flood. There was this little boy that was a slave and he was living in a castle that is giant and the outside is filled with scary looking pumpkins. The boy was walking down the hallway until he saw something that caught his eye he saw a door that has never seen before in the spot he saw it in he was home alone.

Music Screencastify!

 Hi Bloggers! Today this experiment is inspired by Wassily Kandinsky. He is an artist who compared painting to when you draw you make music. It turns anything you draw – lines, circles, triangles, or scribbles – into sound. We used Chrome Music Lab for this. I didn't know about this app but Connor showed us all and it's super cool. When you draw at the bottom it's going to be a deep voice, but if you draw it up it's going to be less deeper.

Welcome to School!

Hi everybody I'm am back at school the reason why we had to stop school was because of the Covid 19/coronavirus. I"ve got some slides to show to you guys. I had to screenshot my face and put one of the faces on emojis and pick what feeling I have. 

I also had to do a comment to somebody that is not in my school. When I finish my must dos I can do my can dos. My can do are lots of thing's I chose doing an animation because I'm really good at it and I have fun doing it.

I like doing schoolwork at school I really at home. The good thing about doing schoolwork at home is you can a comfy and a blanket over yourself so you can get warm. The thing about school is that you can play with and if you don't understand your you can ask the teacher.

Super Zack!

Hi Bloggers! Today I'll be talking about my story there's this superhero called Zack he is old. He could hold a brick with his pinky. 

Once upon a time there was an old superhero his name was Zack. He is very fast at running and flying he could lift a brick his pinky. He can also jump higher then Trump Tower and he jumped so high that he landed in a hot air balloon and he fell but he could fly so he was safe.

One day Professi banana evil wanted to destroy New York. He made a potion to add to his bomb to blow up all of New York. When he clicked the explode button Zack had to save the day 5 4 3 2 1 as soon as it 1 he threw into the sea exploded but it just did nothing. Zack had to go to space and he threw the on to the moon.

Rad Rides!

Hi Everyone! Today I'll be telling you about my story I writ on writing legends go check the website out right here. The story is about a hamster named Rad and the story is Rad Rides he loves to race. If he comes in the top 3 then gets money insane amount of money. 

Once upon a time there was a hampster called Rad he's 24 right now and he has a big house and he live's by himself. He loves racing and one day he to the race and if you came in top 3 then you get money. 1st get's $500k 2nd get's $250k and 3rd get's $75k. The race is on and it is so extreme you have to flip you have to, spin your car 3 times and if you can't do it then your out the race.

3 2 1 GO! Rad was in first place but people cut in front of him so he became 5th and he didn't like it not one bit. He fliped 3 times so did everybody else he drifted in front of someone near the finish line and he came 4th and there are 17 people racing.

He came very sadly so he had to make the ultimate racing car. He had the fastest engine he had booster could every 5 seconds he also could fly and had to drag himself to finish line. The same thing happened but when he was at finish he had a grappler and boosted and grapled at same and he came 1st.

Super Story!

Hi Bloggers! Today I'll be showing my story about New York is falling. The bad guy is Mr. Evil and the hero is Jim. Jim has 4 superpowers they are strong fast spiderwebs and super flexible. Jim is so strong he could hold trump tower and he hugged a bomb 10,000 and saved the city. 

New York is falling in the middle of the day Jim has to save the day there’s nobody else to do it. Trump tower just fell down is about to fall Jim stopped Mr. Evil. Mr. Evil stole some money from the bank and he has a suitcase of money and a bomb 10,000.

The 4 superpowers Jim had was he’s really fast he’s super strong and he is very flexible. He also has spider web powers. He flipped off every single building and swinged with his spider and got the suitcase. He saw that there was a lot of money in the suitcase. He blew the bomb 10,000 Jim hugged and it didn’t explode.

Super Writing!

Hi Everyone! Today I'll be showing my writing and it was interesting but scary at the same time.  

One day there was a girl called Emma she was looking for a house to rent with her family. They found a house that was fine but there was a haunted house behind there house. It is 2016. In 1987 my brother only was 4 and got kidnapped and he died from falling from a cliff. The was next to the haunted house.

One day she went to investigate. It was 11:AM in the night she knocked on the door and it opened by itself. There was a ladder leading to the attic. She had a plan: she got a brick that nobody could lift and put it next to the door so it doesn’t shut. she put fire trap she put a treat for the spirit that he would like she waited and waited until she heard footsteps. she started to run from the spirit it went for treat and set the fire BOOM!

Robot Writing!

Today I'll be showing what have been doing in my writing during the lockdown. I have written a beautiful robot There is a bad robot and good the good is Shaun and the other one is called Mr. Evil because he's evil. I've made a robot on pixel down below here is my story.

Once upon a time there robot called Shaun. When he jumps the whole earth shakes. One day the Mr. Evil came and took over the world there no toilet and everybody needed to go to the toilet so did the robot. Mr. Evil is a robot but he’s a bad guy.

Robot Shaun had to save so zoomed to his secret place and Mr. Evil set up some traps. 3 800kg bowlings were going to fall but he dodge he just to and then would the world. The trap was a bunch of lava he opened and ran past lava when it’s coming out so zoomed through. He was near but there strong to guard the button and he did it.

Possum Animation!

Hi Everyone! I've made good animation but it's a short one. I did the animation and my teacher told me to copy from the book. They went swimming at a river and they trapped a possum the characters are Vinnie, Tu, Tammy and Connor they were also swimming at a gorge. A gorge is rock mountain with a waterfall.

Amazing Animals!

Hi Readers! Today I will be making a made up animal because it was one of my activities. I'm going to add one animal to another and say three things they do. The two animals I'm going to add is a sheep and a goat do you guys know what it is? Yeah it's a geep the goats eat fast and a sheep is very soft. 

The three subjects that a geep does is they eat, sleep and repeat the second thing that they do is. When they go to sleep they always snore as loud as a vacuum cleaner. The last thing they do is when fart they fart 100 times and when you pet it will fart on you.

Alien Writing!

Hi Everyone. I have written a wonderful story on writing legends. Writing legends is a website that you write about something I'm doing that while the lockdown goes on. The story I have written is a about a alien called Bob. Bob meets up with a friend called Cody while he was chased by alien dinosaurs. Check out my story right here. 

Once upon a time there was an alien called Bob. He went on his spaceship and wanted discover other planets so he did. He went to mars he got chased alien dinosaurs and he tripped. Bob used his super gajet the zoom grappler he came up and survived phwww Bob said. When Bob got out he found a friend called Cody they rushed to the spaceship and zoomed away.

They went to a weird planet it was a desert it was hot both of them liked it when it is boiling hot. They meet up with some mean looking aliens and the mean aliens wanted battle Bob. Bob had an army it was gigantec it had 980 men in it. They needed to get ready so Bob's army trained all night learning new skills, dodge and more. So in the morning they went the weird looking planet and started fighting.

The battle begun and Bob's team was winning Bob's team had 980 men in their team and the started with 980 and now it's 765 men. There we're flying someone did a backflip and went into the cannon and got shot. Bob's team had 54 men and the other have 0 it's time that Bob the boss of the other called Jimmy this is gonna be an extreme fight. Can't believe it Bob threw his sword he jumped sliced Jimmy and he won.

Poor Puddles!

Hi Everyone. Today at 9:00 AM in the morning my teacher told me to go on to google hangouts. Most of my class was on google hangouts my teacher asked everyone what they been up to during the holiday. Lots of people  have been walking around a lot and my teacher Mrs Dods told us some jokes they were funny.

Mrs Taylor told us what we're doing for our reading, writing and math. In my writing I have to write about Poor puddles. It's going to be short. Poor puddles went to to school and got bulled because her grades were terrible. She kept on getting an F- on her spelling test. Until she studied a lot and she got an A+.

She was so exited that she was going to show parents and the lightning hit her test and went in the sewer. The day she got up she got A+ and the bullys have learnt there lesson and the cat puddles her parents was proud of her.

Cool Clothing!

What's up Bloggers! 

Today my teacher told me you can do a lego competition or put as many clothes in real life or google slides. I did it google again because if I did it in real life then I would be boiling. I probably can't even take all clothes if I put on myself in real life. 

I put on 1 t - shirt, 2 jackets, 1 pair of socks and 2 pants a hat and some shoes. Now if I put those things on in real life my whole body, face and legs will be boiling hot!

Super Stacking!

Hi Readers. Today my teacher told me to stack some items in real life or in google slides I did in google slides because it wouldn't fall.  I stacked 10 items they we're 5 foods, 2 balls, 3 animals.   

If I stacked those in real life then that would definitely fall down. The bouncy basketball might hit my head so it's not a good idea to stack things real life. It would be good if someone tall stack the items and hold the items.

Magical Math!

 Last week in math, my teacher taught us a new way to figure out addition and subtraction problems. It's called algorithm. If you don't know what it is then I will tell you. You write the bigger number at the top and the smaller number at the bottom. Then you put a plus or minus beside it. Next you put a line under the bottom number that's an equal sign.

You always add or subtract the ones first if it's above 10 then you carry if you have to. If you are unable to subtract the number because the top number is smaller, then you have to borrow from the number next to it. That means that if the number next to it was 8, it would become 7. And if the 1's column number was 3, it would become 13.

What about addition you say? Well, say you have 5 and 8 in the 1's column. You know that they are going to equal over 10 so you just add 5 and 8 which is 13. Then you write 3 under the line in the 1's column and the 1 above the number next to it but it has to be smaller.

Awesome Screencastify!

Hi bloggers? This week we have been learning how to screencastify. How to screencastify you go to a new tab and go to the orange arrow that has a white camera inside.  If you want to show your work then you have to go to the desktop.

If you want to show your face you have to go to webcam only and turn the microphone on. We had to write a script so we can read what we're going to say so you don't forget. We also had to do are script on a whiteboard if it didn't fit you had to get a piece of paper.

Fantastic Maths!

Hi Bloggers!  Today I will talking about how to round numbers here we go. The key information is that if the number is 4 or below it goes down if it's 5 or above then it goes up. Our teacher told us to do some slides about how to numbers there was a tricky one that had to do as a team. We solved them but it was hard and we had to round the 10s the 100s and the 1000s. Check out my cool animation.

Awesome Handwriting!

Hi Everybody. Today I will be showing my handwriting and we have been learning about linking our letters. Mrs  Taylor showed us how then at the end it was called afl and we had to link on are own. We had a new teacher Ms baker she marked are and gave lovely stickers. When we did afl we had link all the words since we practiced. It was kinda hard a challenging for to do linking for the first time.

Super Wonderful Writing!

Hi guys! this week we have been doing writing in our writing we have been learning about ipace. Let me tell you all of the letters stand for something let me show you. I stands for ing words are like a word then ing at the end of the word.

S stands for similes for example as quick as a cheetah. P stands for prepositions it means like where you for example the cat was inside the log. A stands for adverbs for example the singer sang beautifully. I don't no what c stands for. E stands for ed words for so like ed words are like surprised, amazed, and powered.

Brillant 2020!

Whats up Bloggers!

Welcome this year in 2020 so far it's been amazing. We are year 4 and 5 now we have also moved classrooms. One thing we have new teachers in our classrooms. We have a table that has comfy spots to sit and you can write on the table cause the tables whiteboard. It feels like I'm year 2 cause we had this classroom when we were year 2. We also have super comfortable couches when I sit on them it feels like I'm and home. Mrs docs also checked our height and I was 129 cm to me that's ok for a 9 year old. We have a class treaty it has all colored stars. All mean show kindness, try news thing and try your best then you will get your work done.

Summer Learning Journey Day 14!

Hi Readers! Today I'm gonna be doing the Summer Learning Journey all about Dr Lance. Dr Lance is a Maori doctor who lives in Kaitia Northland. He has committed his life to improving the health and well-being of both his patients and people in the local community. In 2014 he was named New Zealand of the year and he wants to keep everybody healthy and strong. 

Now the Summer Learning Journey site told name five things we need to keep us healthy and strong. First one stay clean. Second eat fruit and veges to stay strong. Third one exercise 30 minutes a day to stay even stronger. Forth one sleep very well. Fifth one stay hydrated.
